AI cat videos: six cats, one flat, nonstop sofa politics

In June 2025 the South China Morning Post reported an AI-made ginger-cat drama with nearly 150 million views, from an account that gained more than a million followers in under two months. By August, The Guardian was writing about cat “soap operas” full of cheating and revenge watched by millions. The engine is the same one that powers human micro dramas: a clear wrong, a want, and a reason to see the next part.

Cats make it easier. Nobody needs a cat to deliver a line, so the story is told in looks, stand-offs and who gets the sunny spot. That suits AI video, where silent acting holds up better than dialogue.

@catflat_bb films six cats in one apartment like a reality show: ceiling cameras, a confession corner and a vote-off cliffhanger at the end of a run. Titles read like reality TV captions (“someone touched socks bowl again”, “suddenly the sofa has sides”), and each short is about 30 seconds: a setup, an escalation, and one cat making a choice the others won't forgive.

• One cat acts per shot. The others react in the next one.
• The camera stays at cat height or high in a corner, never in a glossy close-up of a face.
• Every cat has one fixed look (a grey tabby with a torn ear, a white long-hair) repeated in every clip, so the cast stays the cast.
